Are you feeling isolated or in need of support in your journey as a clinician? Consultation groups can be an invaluable resource for creating safety to explore cases, to connect with other professionals, to stay curious about ourselves and our profession, and to continue learning and growing. This group is capped at eight members and runs from September to May, meeting every other Friday from 10-11:30am CST on Zoom. Continuing Education Credits will be available for meetings attended.
Build community and connection with a brief check-in and space to share what you're carrying or thinking about.
Each meeting includes learning grounded in neuroscience and rooted in experiential work. No prior training in working experientially needed.
Bring your difficult cases or clinical challenges and receive support in a compassionate, respectful environment.
It’s easy to feel like you have to carry everything on your own in this work—the clinical load, the emotional weight, the constant pressure to do more and know more. Over time, that can quietly wear you down. Burnout doesn’t always show up as a breakdown—it often looks like going through the motions, feeling disconnected from the work you once loved. This group is here to offer a consistent place to return to for community, honest consultation, and continued clinical growth. A space where you don’t have to hold it all alone—and where your work (and well-being) can be supported in meaningful ways.
This group is for you if:
There will be eight spaces available for clinicians to keep the group intimate and create space for vulnerability and time for all to share.
You will be charged $65/consultation meeting. You will be charged for each group meeting regardless of attendance.
Yes. I understand that life happens, but group depends on consistency and facilitation happens regardless of your attendance. A consistent group structure helps build safety, trust and momentum. Many people find that committing financially, even when they occasionally have to miss, helps reinforce their commitment to their own process and to the group. It is part of the container that makes the group effective. Also, to avoid confusion or case-by-case decisions, I have found it works best to have a consistent, blanket policy across the board.
Meetings are held on Fridays from 10-11:30am CST on Zoom. See above for schedule of dates.
Jen Alley, LPC-S will facilitate the groups.
I have been in practice for over 15 years, first in the non-profit world and in private practice for the past 12+ years. I love to learn, am a total research nerd, and am in ongoing trainings and consultations myself.
This year, I became STAIR certified (a brain-based integrated method of experiential therapy created by Julianne Taylor Shore - I've studied with her for over a decade). I also am currently participating in a new consultation group of therapists who work with couples (also facilitated by Juliane Taylor Shore) and am in a STAIR practice group. Later this year, I will be going back to Bonnie Badenoch's for her training, Therapy as a Spiritual Practice.
I am passionate about continuing to integrate neuroscience research into my practice. Much of the work I do is trauma work and experiential in nature.
I am also trained in EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Dr. Brené Brown’s Daring Way™ and Rising Strong ™ curriculums. I have completed the Level I training in Emotional Transformational Therapy and have studied both Interpersonal Neurobiology and Coherence Therapy in various formats the past several years. I utilize sand tray and have been focused on integrating my training with Bonnie Badenoch into my practice. I work primarily with individuals and also see some couples (my couples training is in Gottman and Relational Life Therapy) . I have been married for thirteen years and have two children (ages 12 and 9). Before becoming a therapist, I was a teacher. I love what I get to do for work and look forward to working with you!
This consult group is for therapists or associates who would like a supportive, collaborative community of clinicians who are passionate about learning and growing and are interested in experiential therapies for adults. We will make space for case consultations, role play, experiential exercises, and other learning opportunities. Ultimately, the group will evolve to be what the participants want and need. It is appropriate for those in private or group practice or an agency setting.
It is important to know that while I had schooling in play therapy and sand tray, most of my work and training is not focused on working with young children. In the agency world, I worked with teens and families as well as adults and now I only work with adult individuals and couples.
Yes, you will receive 1.5 CEs for each meeting. You must attended live to receive CEs. However, please note that Jen is a Licensed Professional Counselors and Supervisor in the state of Texas - you will need to see what requirements you have for your state/licensure.
This consultation group is time limited (it runs approximately every other Friday from September to May and then you have the option to continue the next year). The focus for the consultation group is clinical in nature - we can address business questions but the main goal is experiential learning and consultation. It is smaller with only eight members. The Community meets weekly and the focus is a blend of consultation, personal and professional growth, clinical learning and business/practice growth. We haven't identified the cap yet but are aiming for 15 members and will then reassess. We definitely want it to feel small enough to stay intimate, vulnerable and valuable. Both offer continuing education credits.
